Mastering Peri-Anesthesia Care: RWJBarnabas Health Hosts Conference for Nurse Attendees

RWJBarnabas Health recently hosted a Peri-Anesthesia Conference at its Eisenhower facility in Livingston, NJ. The conference was organized by The Institute for Nursing Excellence and aimed to provide 44 nurse attendees with lectures, simulations, and certification review for the CAPA and CPAN examinations. The event was led by Swapnil Shah, DNP, Jessica Stanford, MSN RN-BC, and Mary Koch, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, CNOR.

The agenda for the conference included topics such as Phase I and II Management, Review of Anesthesia Medications for Adult and Pediatric populations, Fluid and Blood management, and a session on Care of the Caregiver by Tom Moore from the RWJBarnabas Health Employee Assistance Program. The morning ended with hands-on sessions on mini-code, ventilator management, A-Lines
