Dhofar Fall 2024 Gears Up for More Than One Million Visitors as New Events and Attractions Unveiled

The Municipality of Dhofar is gearing up to launch the Dhofar Fall 2024 activities in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in the Sultanate of Oman. Last year, Dhofar Fall 2023 witnessed a significant increase in visitors, with 962 thousand visitors compared to 813 thousand visitors in 2022. This year, they anticipate that the number of visitors will surpass one million.

During a press conference at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 exhibition in Dubai, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al-Ghassani, Mayor of Dhofar, announced that this year’s activities will begin early and will take place in existing and new sites to attract a larger number of tourists. The fall season will run from June 21 to September 20, lasting three months, twice as long as previous years.

One of the highlights of this year’s activities is the launch of the “Atin Square” website, which offers various events such as Omani and Arab artistic concerts at the Al Murooj Theater and other locations. Additionally, there will be a sports challenge field in the games area at Atin Square. The “Return of the Past” activities in the Al-Saada area will be updated to simulate local environments in Dhofar Governorate, incorporating new environments from other Sultanate of Oman governorates.

Moreover, live performances and arts that showcase Omani culture will be featured along with the inaugural “Dhofar International Theater Festival” to encourage participation from authorities in the Sultanate of Oman. The Municipality of Dhofar is working hard to provide a diverse and engaging experience for visitors during the fall season.

The municipality has been preparing for this season for months now by adding more attractions for tourists to enjoy during their stay in Dhofar Governorate. They have collaborated with local businesses and organizations to ensure that everything runs smoothly throughout the duration of these events.
