Sheriff Proposes Mental Health Program for Officers in El Paso County Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff Richard D. Wiles has submitted an agenda item to the El Paso Commissioners Court, proposing a mental health program for officers in the Sheriff’s office. The program aims to provide individual and group therapy sessions to peace officers and deputies, with specialized treatments such as animal therapy and art therapy offered through collaboration with Family Endeavors, Inc. Funding for this initiative comes from a grant award.

If approved, the program will be implemented from March 2024 through March 2025.
