Israel Launches Military Offensive in Gaza and West Bank Following Deadly October 7 Attacks, Kills Key Hamas Member Marwan Issa

In response to the October 7 attacks that resulted in numerous casualties, Israel launched a military offensive in Gaza and the West Bank. The Israeli Army has confirmed the death of Marwan Issa, a key Hamas figure and the ‘number 3’ of the organization, during an airstrike in Nuseirat refugee camp. Issa played a role in organizing the attacks and his death was previously announced by White House National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan. Another senior Hamas member, Commander Ghazi Abu Tamaa, was also killed in the same attack.

The conflict between Israel and Palestine has been ongoing for decades and continues to spark international concern and condemnation. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, over 32,300 deaths have been reported due to Israeli security forces and settlers since the start of the conflict. Despite efforts for peace and dialogue, both sides continue their military actions leading to a volatile situation with civilians bearing the brunt of violence and insecurity.
