Falcons Sign Eddie Goldman, Despite Never Playing for Team, Looks to Make a Splash in Upcoming Season

In July 2022, Eddie Goldman signed with the Falcons but retired shortly after. However, he returned to the active roster in March 2023. Despite never playing a game for the team, Goldman’s skills and potential are evident. The Falcons have released him from their reserve/left squad list, but it seems that another transaction involving Goldman is on the horizon. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Goldman is expected to sign a new deal with the team.

Goldman’s most recent on-field action was during the 2021 season with the Bears, where he appeared in 14 games and recorded 22 tackles and a half-sack. He opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID, meaning those appearances are his only recent playing time. Throughout his career, Goldman has amassed 175 tackles, 13 sacks, and two fumble recoveries.

The upcoming new deal signifies a fresh start for Goldman with the team. The Falcons seem keen on bringing him back into the fold despite his recent absence from the field. Fans will be eager to see how he performs in the upcoming season as he continues to showcase his skills and potential on the field.
