Experience the Total Eclipse at the Kentucky Science Center: A Special Event for History and Education!

The Kentucky Science Center is hosting a special event for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at their Main Street location. This event will offer free educational sessions, eclipse-viewing safety information, cultural interpretations of eclipses and constellations, and the chance to view the partial eclipse.

As part of this event, guests will have access to all of the Kentucky Science Center’s activities across its expansive 50,000 square feet of space. Special programming will be stationed throughout the galleries, including pinhole camera creation workshops and live streaming coverage from NASA. Educational programs about gravity and UV rays will also be available.

Chief Executive Officer Mike Norman expressed his excitement about the event, calling it a once-in-20-years phenomenon that is made possible in part by a NASA Kentucky Space Grant. Guests can choose to attend documentary screenings of Journey to Space 3-D, a film about NASA’s Space Shuttle program and the International Space Station.

The Kentucky Science Center is located at 727 W. Main Street and is open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., making it an excellent location for families looking for fun and educational activities during this historic event.
