Celebrating Total Solar Eclipse 2024: Frost Science Hosts Unique Viewing Party

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cast a shadow over a large portion of the United States along the path of totality. This eclipse will stretch from Texas in the south to Maine in the northeast, making it one of the most highly anticipated celestial events of the year. While Miami will not be directly in the path of totality this time, the city will still experience a partial solar eclipse.

To celebrate this special occasion, Frost Science is hosting a partial solar eclipse viewing party starting at noon on April 8. The museum, located on the waterfront, will offer special programming in the planetarium and throughout its galleries focusing on the science and history of eclipses. Guests can observe the partial solar eclipse from one of six levels of the museum, but it is important to protect your eyes with solar viewers while doing so. Bring your own pair or use the goggles provided for free with your ticket purchase.

The viewing party will feature activities such as building a lunar base camp, creating a pinhole camera, storytime, interactive eclipse shows, and more. Ticket prices for non-members start at $37.95 for ages 12 and older, and $26.95 for kids ages four to eleven, granting full access to the museum and eclipse programming. During
